See yourself clearly

Mirror Work

“Look into your own eyes and remember the person who has been with you through everything — you.”

The Practice

What is Mirror Work?

Mirror work is a beautifully simple yet profoundly powerful self-love practice, popularized by Louise Hay. It involves looking into your own eyes in a mirror and speaking words of love, acceptance, and encouragement to yourself.

It may sound easy, but for many of us, it’s one of the hardest things we’ll ever do. We’re so used to criticizing the person we see in the mirror that learning to love them can bring up deep emotions — and deep healing.

The relationship you have with yourself sets the tone for every other relationship in your life.

Step by Step

How to Practice Mirror Work

01

Find Your Mirror

Choose a quiet, private space with a mirror. This is your sacred moment — no distractions, just you.

02

Meet Your Own Gaze

Look into your eyes — really look. It might feel uncomfortable at first, and that's completely normal.

03

Speak Your Truth

Say your affirmations out loud. Start with your name: "[Your name], I love you. I really, truly love you."

04

Feel & Release

Let the emotions come. Tears, smiles, resistance — they're all part of the healing. Journal what comes up.

Speak to Yourself

Mirror Affirmations

Stand before your mirror. Look into your eyes. Speak these words out loud, slowly, with feeling.

I see you, and you are enough.

You are worthy of love — especially your own.

I forgive you. I am proud of you.

The person in this mirror is doing their best.

You are beautiful, inside and out.

I choose to speak kindly to myself today.

You have survived every hard day so far.

I am becoming who I was always meant to be.
